One Week Down

Matt has been gone a week. It hasn't been too bad so far. Kevin drove to PA with Matt so Amanda and Levi were our house guests for the first three nights. That helped a lot having a distraction...even though that cute little distraction woke me up every night around 2:00 am! And the past few days have been pretty good. The weekdays don't seem so bad because I have the girls all day anyways. It is the evenings and weekends where I tend to get tired and frustrated. The girls are being pretty good, even though they have their moments. Libby has hit her terrible twos stage I think, what a stinker! And Anna, ever the dramatic, has started having daily "I miss Dadddddyyyyyyy" breakdowns. Poor girl. I'm trying to be gracious but she is so over-the-top sometimes! I have been trying to think of distractions to do during the days to keep them entertained, but there are only so many indoor activities around. I checked out Little House in the Big Woods at the library and Anna and I read a chapter every night before bed. She really looks forward to that time. I don't know if she really listens that long, but I think the mommy time is good for her.

On a logistical note, we shouldn't have any trouble finding a place to rent. Everyone we know, and some we don't, are trying to find us a place to live. This morning Matt was working in Sara's coffee shop and the former chief-of-police walked up to him and said, "Hey, I heard you need a place to rent. I might have something for you!" There are perks when your sister-in-law owns the hippest coffee shop in town! I am waiting to hear back from our landlord about this lease also. If you are praying for us, we really need God to step in here financially. Matt hasn't worked for a month and it is going to take a few weeks to get on our feet again. A big fat miracle would really help out!

And in the funny department, Anna was singing in the car yesterday. These were the words she sang to the tune of ...Jimmy crack corn...
"Piggy back porn, and I don't care..."
I was trying not to laugh as I taught her the correct words. Wouldn't her teachers love that one!

I am still laughing. That is so funny (not your current situation, just your hilarious daughter!). Well, good for you for making it past week 1. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm glad to hear you are surviving! You are in our prayers - hoping the next few weeks go VERY FAST for you and that the girls will be angels! :)

Yes, feel free to pass it on, but with a stern warning. The benefits of napping do not outweigh the consequences of unsupervised alone time.
