Girl Getaway 2010

I broke the 10th Commandment this weekend. I know. Sinner. Can't think of what that one may be off the top of your head? That's ok, I had to look it up too. Commandment 10: Thou shall not covet. In my defense, stores should have a warning sign. Like when you walk up to a Pottery Barn there should be a sign that says: "Warning - All merchandise very expensive. If you can't handle it, don't come in". But they don't, so I went in. And I coveted. I coveted many things in that store. But mostly a small, red side table (that I searched everywhere for a picture of) that would look fabulous with my freshly painted red cabinet next to my soon-to-be newly slip-covered chocolate brown chair. Oh. My. But really? $400.00? For that little piece of happiness. Sorry PB. I think my talented hubby could build one for a quarter of the price. Or less.

I made the mistake of walking into Anthropologie. Do you want to know what I coveted there? Well, I'll show you...

Perfect purse price tag: $198.00. Sick. But I was in love, so I just sat on a bench and held it close, pretending it was going home with me. But it didn't. I think I teared up a bit as I exited the store, leaving that poor purse all alone on a shelf.

I know, you are probably wondering what I'm rambling about. Well, I'll tell you. I spent the weekend in Philadelphia for the annual Kauffman female weekend getaway. Last year we had a blast at the Country Living Fair in Ohio and so we decided we needed to escape every year. And when you are with the Kauffman women, you shop. Or window shop. So you go to the expensive stores and drool, then drive to IKEA and Plato's Closet where you can actually afford things and feel better because you leave the store with a purchase.

Want to know what else we do? We eat. We eat fabulous cuisine such as this...

Yes friends, that beautifully created crepe is filled with Nutella and bananas. Delish. Swoon. I did. I swooned over a crepe.

Oh, want to meet the fabulous Kauffman women? Well, here they are:
This is Matt's youngest sister Sara and his brother's wife, Heather. She is my fellow out-law. Aren't they pretty?

And here is Matt's mom who I refer to as 'Mother' and his other sister Aimee, with me in the middle wishing we took this picture Sunday because I was looking much cuter than Saturday. Such beautiful women all in one family!

And I know, I promised all these pictures. But I think I forgot that I had a nice camera. And there are only so many pictures I could take of stores and restaurants! Oh wait, here is one of Sara in a super cool chair in PB.

So basically our weekend consisted of lots of walking, shopping, talking, and eating. So much walking, in fact, that my hips are still sore from lugging this growing belly all over Philadelphia. And Aimee is quite the trooper, she is due in 5 weeks and did just as much walking. Us preggos were a bit tired...and still are I think! But regardless of the coveting and old woman hips we had a grand time...and are already thinking about next year!
