I LOVE it! It makes life so much easier and makes my kitchen look so nice. He still has to add a towel bar to the end but otherwise; presto! I am still figuring out what to put underneath but it is just so nice to not feel like I'm scrounging for counter space! Next on my list is a bookshelf, and maybe an entertainment center...but all in time!

Ah. I love the Amish. Seriously. Good job, Matt! It's beautiful. If I lived somewhere that I had ROOM for an island, I would order one. And Anna...SO BIG. Geez.
That island looks amazing. My husband WANTS to be that talented and has big dreams of building me great things in the future. Maybe I can order up an apprenticeship for him under Matt? Then I, too, could be married to an Amish carpenter!

neat island- I wish I had space for one!! I would love to "practice" my new skills by capturing your girls/family on film. I'm still learning so I have a hard time charging yet!
Why do you not live closer? Not only would we have the most fun playdates, but we could also have BBQs because I think our husband's would get along superbly. Mark also makes furniture. He has made our coffee table, Cora's bed, our end tables and a few chairs and lamps. His style is a bit more rustic, but I think they would have plenty to talk about. The island is amazing!
can matt make me one when i get married?
