It was fabulous! I love the movie and the music and seeing it live is always the best experience. I am a bit of a musical nerd though...I get goosebumps during a good song. For me, music enhances an emotion like nothing else. If I was single and childless I would be trying to make my living on the Big White Way myself...it has always been a dream.
Here is a shot of the stage:
And here is the funny story for the evening. Our husbands got the tickets and thought they were being so sneaky, but our tickets were way up in the balcony. So we were trying to connive a way to get closer. Well Danielle and I headed down to the Mezzanine level to see how full it was and there was hardly anybody sitting there. So, after much deliberation and encouragement, I went to the nice usher lady (usheress?) and asked her if it would be possible to sit down here if the seats stay empty. You see, my friend is pregnant and being up so high is making her feel dizzy. Yes, I did, I said it! And guess what...she let us! So while it's not orchestra, mezz seating is still really good! I was quite proud! And I've said it before...always, always, always play the pregnancy card. It works and if you are going to be miserable and fat for 9 months you need to be able to use it! Here is a shot of Amanda and I with the stage in the background...except you can't really see the set..
Oh, and for those of you American Idol fans, the role of Tom Collins was played by a former finalist from Season 4...Mr. Anwar Robinson

So in all it was a superb evening, but I now have the theater itch. I shall now be on the prowl for shows coming to Denver and Springs...Phantom, Les Mis, Wicked...anything!

How fun. If I had not recently returned from my fabulous vaca, I would be crazy jealous. As it stands, I'm still a bit jealous. Good times!
