Levi Davis St. Clair

He is here!!!

Levi was born last night at 6:48 weighing in at 9lbs. and 21.5 inches. He was a big boy and Amanda had to have a c-section. Frustrating for her, but she is doing well and so happy he is here! Yesterday was crazy emotional for me. I went to the hospital at around 9:00 am to see how she was doing. I walked in the room and lost it. I was crying and having crazy flashbacks to Anna's birth. Seeing Amanda go through those contractions and being a part of that was emotional!! I was remembering the pain, the exhaustion, the just wanting my baby and not caring how I got her. I just wanted to help...but I did only what I could, pray. What an honor to be able to sit in the room and just pray for her and the baby.
Let me just jump in here with HUGE props for Kevin...what a coach!! They worked great together and he knew just what she needed.
So after a couple hours of pushing the doctor told her he just wasn't gonna come out. She was nervous but a trooper. She beats my 17 1/2 hrs. of natural labor by two hours with 19 hrs. and a c-section...which she reminded me of on the phone this morning ;) She is tired and sore but so in love with her little guy. And yes, he has a bit of a cone head, but that is to be expected. I am again amazed at the miracle of life. To be able to carry and birth a child is by far the greatest gift I have been given. And I am now positive, after seeing both sides of it, that women who cannot have their own children have a special place in God's heart...and a special gift that we other women do not have.

Anna and Libby were just in love with this little guy...holding him and touching his little fingers. I have a feeling Anna is going to take on the role of "baby holder/playmate".

I am so blessed to have this girl as my friend...and blessed to have been able to be apart of this awesome experience. I told her this morning that I am ready to babysit!!

And yes...he does make me want another...but just a little bit. That is why Matt doesn't get to go to the hospital to visit. He'll just pressure me into it!

My sister Jaynell (did you work with her at A&W too?) had her fourth child Dec. 5th! I understand your excitment to be an Aunt! It is the best thing ever.

I don't know them, but I still am touched by the miracle of birth. As women, I feel it is such a gift bestowed upon us. And newborns are nothing short of perfection. Love it!
