Dedicated...or Addicted?

So, one of our goals with this move was to become "Gazelle-like" in getting out of debt and back on our feet financially. This is a Ramsey term that basically says we do nothing fun or extra until the debt it gone. So, while we are not super strict on this (yet) we did decide that cable is not a necessity in our lives. I thought I would die without Food Network and HGTV, but we are surviving and don't really even miss it. We watch less TV and that is good all around. What this means though, is that we are back to rabbit ears. The plan is to run the cable outside so that our antenna sits in a place where we can get all of the channels, but we haven't gotten to it yet. So far we get the major channels...except one. And for those who know me, you know that ABC is a big part of my week. You see, LOST is on ABC. And no, I cannot miss this show. So, my friends, here is what it looks like in my living room on Wednesday nights at 9:00 pm. I am a loyal fan...

And yes, that is foil on the ends. That is the only way to get it! The first Wednesday night we were here it took us 45 minutes to find the right spot and add the foil. It worked and now we can enjoy our show. Stop laughing at my redneckishness. You'd do it too if you had to. I think after tonight's viewing I'm going to make Matt run that cord...I'm a bit sick of it.

Oh, and look, a peek at my blue carpet...although it doesn't look too bad in this photo. Imagine the sky with specks of clouds...

That. Is. Awesome. And your redneckishness is understandable. You are from Idaho after all!

Did you try to watch it on the computer? You'd have to wait a day probably. If you can't wait I'd say your addicted! Haha

I understand about forgoing cable. I just can't seem to justify that cost right know! Free internet from a neighbor is what it's about right now!

Hey, the foil might be redneck, but at least you can get the channel! Here in Vegas, what can you get with just rabbit ears??? Telemundo, plus two other Spanish-language channels. That's it. I'm serious. Thank the Lord that the Amish are more willing to let people have free TV :)

I think I would do the same thing. :)

I literally burst out laughing! Too funny! We've totally been there. But now we don't even have the rabbit ears. Netflix is the ticket!

I think the antana makes the room feel warm and inviting. :) Looks like whoever lives there is casual, friendly, and will sacrifice everything to watch a show! So YOU!! HA!

Ha ha ha. I don't have cable either but the internet is non-negotiable. I have Ramsey's book and love it although I'm like you...I'm having a hard time committing 100%. Obviously...I went to Thailand! I don't think Ramsey would have approved.

I miss you so much and love your blogs. Keep them coming!!
