Enough!

I've had it...I'm done. Done I tell you. I will not suffer the injustice any longer.

All right, maybe it's not that big of a deal. But in some ways it is infuriating.

We went camping with the Fisher's last weekend. It was blitzin' hot, but we had a fabulous, big creek running right by our camp spot that we spent all of our time in keeping cool. It was a great time! And we took their boat out on the river. And for the first time ever Anna put on her life jacket and jumped bravely off the back of the boat into the water. And swam, and swam, and swam. She would have stayed out there all day. That is a distinct part of my childhood memories and now I'm getting to pass that along. It was rejuvenating being out on a boat again, floating around in the cool water.

And do I have any pictures? One picture to remember this fantastic, memory-making weekend? No. Because the minute I pulled my camera out and turned it on, it turned itself right back off again. Once again, the batteries were dead. I think the battery life in that camera is two weeks. Two weeks of barely being used because what kind of pictures can you take and frame with a 2 mega-pixel camera? Maybe if I want a bunch of wallet-sized pictures hanging on my walls. Wouldn't that be just adorable?

Then I was going to take a picture of the stack of peaches I have in my freezer. My lovely in-laws prepared frozen peaches for me yesterday because I had to work and couldn't join them. I have bags of yummy, sugary peaches that I can pull out and put over ice cream for a taste of summer in January. And I wanted to show you...and I can't. Because we don't have any extra batteries in the house.

So I'm done. When Matt gets home I will sit him down and explain the situation. We are buying a camera, tomorrow. I don't care if we haven't saved up for it. You hear me Dave Ramsey?

I. Have. Not. Saved. Cash. For. A. New. Camera.

And I don't care. I'm done missing out on special moments because our camera sucks. End of story. Thank-you for caring. Although I'm sure you thought this was a big waste of a blog post. Because what is a blog post without pictures...

I love the way you think. And you need to run out and get a camera. YOU NEED TO. The kids will resent not having pictures of these things...and having to look back at pictureless blogs. :)

I just happened onto your blogs and was so entertained, I just had to let you know. I almost feel like I was eavesdropping.. and like those who do, couldn't look away. Here I was sitting at my desk feeling sorry for myself after getting a call from my doctor.. and then I read your wonderfully entertaining posts, which made me smile and forget all about my stupid troubles. Oh how I wish I was young and vibrant again and had the wit and wisdom you so eloquently put to words. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
