A Simple Start

For my first of many posts this month I thought I'd start off easy. I just realized I never showed you my cabinet re-do. Shame on me!! Do you remember the before?

Yeah...ugly old thing huh? Well, after a coat of BIN primer and a couple coats of paint I proudly present: our TV cabinet!

I love how it turned out! I had all of these 'during production' pictures but I can't seem to find them. It finally adds some color to my living room which makes me happy. Although looking at it on here it seems a bit cherry red when in real life it is a bit darker. I just have to get some stuff on the walls and maybe a cute vase for the cabinet to finish sprucing up that area. I have the hardest time finding wall decor. Maybe I'm just too picky? And like Matt pointed out, it would look very nice with a big flat screen on top...all in good time I suppose : )

And since I tackled that monstrosity I figure I can probably just about do anything! So I took this ugly, old bookshelf...

And turned it into this...

This will be for some of baby's things and will go in our room. I'm not loving the white on white, but it's fine for now. The baskets (Thank-You Hobby Lobby) add some color and I can hopefully find something cute and colorful to put on top.

Because baby and all of his things will be in our room we are in the process of moving some furniture around in there, trying to make the most of the space. I have an old side table in my laundry room also waiting to be painted to take the place of my cedar chest. Not sure on the color yet. Maybe I'll post a picture and take a poll. White would match the shelf, but brown might add some needed color. Hmmm, not sure. I'll jot that down for later this month if I need a post! : )

All of HIS things?? Does that mean it's a baby boy? If so, I somehow missed that until now! Yay for boys

Love the cabinet! Wish we had the space to refinish some furniture... I've seen so much at garage sales that I just can't justify because we have nowhere to paint!
