What's A Versa Bag?

I'm taking a break from the thinking stuff. I'll come back to the church post later. But for now, I'm here to answer the big question on everyone's mind: What exactly is a Versa Bag? Well, I'll show you. Let's start at the beginning...

Here is where I work. Matt built that handy-dandy cutting table for me that fits perfectly in the corner of the basement. It's higher than normal counter-top height so I'm not hunching over all of the time.

This is the fabric I use. It's a big 50 yard roll that I just pull up and over as I need it. I also have navy fabric but I don't get many requests for that.

These are the magic scissors sent from heaven.

Happiness in scissor form
I just got these last week and I'm kicking myself repeatedly for waiting so long. Electric scissors rock my world! They slice through that fabric like butter. No more tired hands from using normal scissors. Where were these things when I was cutting out 50 of these bad boys?

Here are my patterns. There are a good variety of sizes so whenever I get an order I can usually adjust one of these to fit the specifications. And if it's a repeat customer I have notes in their file on which pattern to use and how to change it up if needed. So handy-dandy.

Are you having fun yet? I know this is exhilarating.

Here is where the magic happens.

At first I was going to rush around and clean it all up for the picture but then I changed my mind. Cause friends, this is my reality. I work in the midst of baby strollers, Polly Pocket, crayons, and scrap paper. But I'm down with that. It gets cleaned up in between orders and that's as good as it's gonna get. And Matt built me that nice corner table with an inset for my machine too, but I think I may have already blogged about that.

Oh, and look...here is the beginnings of a bag! This is what a cut-out looks like. Next it will get bound and ready for the embroiderer, but we'll save that for next time. Don't want to over-stimulate you!

I have 4 orders right now totaling 75 bags so I'm a bit on the busy side. Regardless of the busy I truly count it a blessing. And honestly, I'm a bit proud of myself. These are nice bags and people pay good money for them. I don't know why it fell in my lap but I'm so thankful it did!
