Kindergarten!

We have arrived.

Anna went to Kindergarten today. Her school has the parents come in with the kids the first day for about an hour to meet the teacher and get to know the classroom, so in reality I don't really feel like it was her first day. Tomorrow though, tomorrow I watch her step on to a school bus for the first time. I don't know if she will actually go through with it. She is sooo excited, but then gets all quiet and scared when the actual moment arrives.

So even though it wasn't a real first day, we had to take the pictures. And of course Libby had to be involved. She has been asking to go to school for a week now. And then when Anna was putting on socks and shoes, Libby was screaming for 'socks too Mommy'!! And when I told Anna to go get her backpack, what do you think Libby did? Yup, she turned around and went racing back to her room for her Dora 'Pack-Pack'.

Libby had to be in a picture too

And show off her own pack-pack..notice the socks and shoes, just like Anna ; )

Anna really liked her teacher (we'll call her Mrs. M) and seems excited to go back tomorrow, without mommy! I'm so excited for her and all of the new things she is going to learn. We have started a new chapter in the Kauffman life!

wow! your baby is not a baby!!! I can't even imagine how proud you must be to see her in school!!! I especially love how into school Libby is.. maybe you can play that to your advantage.. you know like have Libby do "school work" at the table when you want a break ;)

I can't believe my little Anna is in Kindergarten!!! And Libby is so big too. My sister did the same thing, by the way, on my first day of Kindergarten. My mom said that after all the kids went to their classrooms my sister stood in the hall with her little back pack, her shoulders slumped down and looking at her feet whimpered: "I don't have a classroom." Awww Gash. Did Anna ride the bus?
